SuFI works closely with Brown Dining Services'  Community Harvest Program to improve investment in local agriculture and increase the quantity of local, organic, and fair trade food in our campus eateries.

    SuFI and Community Harvest collaborate on a number events such as the yearly Shuck-Off, during which students shuck local corn to served in the Refectory for that nights dinner.  SuFI also plays an important part  in coordinating the weekly Farmers Market held in the Fall on Wriston Quad.  Farmer’s from across Rhode Island, including two apple  orchards, three vegetable farmers, Farm Fresh Rhode Island and Seven Stars Bakery.

COME HELP OUT IN THE SuFI STUDENT GARDEN!

 

  1. -DURING THE SUMMER WE WILL BE HAVING WEEKLY WORK DAYS BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 12.30PM AND 4.00PM ON FRIDAY AFTERNOONS.  COME OUT TO GET YOUR HANDS DIRTY AND HAVE ICED TEA AND SNACKS WITH THE STUDENT GARDENERS. EMAIL: sufi.student.garden at gmail.com to get on our mailing list
