About the BMSA
The Brown Muslim Students' Association seeks to build an open community for Muslim students at Brown where they may worship, practice, question and learn about their faith through open dialogue and discussions with fellow students and faculty members. Our aim is to help build understanding and an appreciation for differences through halaqas, open-lectures and inter-faith discussions.
The BMSA also seeks to fulfill the religious needs of students and faculty on campus regardless of their specific sectarian background. We are proud to offer weekly Friday Jummah prayers, iftar dinners and taraweeh prayers during Ramadan, Eid BBQs and much more. Our Muslim Students' Center (BMSC) is located in the basement of Chaplain Hall on the corner of Thayer and Cushing St. Friday prayers are offered here at 1:15 P.M, along with many more events throughout the school year.
