This year Brown sent two teams to APDA Nationals at West Point Academy. Yvonne Yu '13 and Allegra Pincus '11 finished with a strong 3-3 record. Joe Rosner '12 and Sam Sanders '13 finished with a 4-2 record, narrowly missing the octofinals break on speaker points. They were 20th team in the strongest field in the nation, with almost 80 teams competing. A great finish to a successful year!
In other news, the BDU co-hosted the first Rhode Island Urband Debate League-Brown Debating Union hybrid tournament on May 1st. Brown debaters were randomly paired with RIUDL highschoolers to debate for tshirts and glory. Congrats to BDU debaters Maya Bretzius and Allegra Pincus for advancing to finals with their partners, Meg O'Garr and Kevin Blais of Lasalle Academy!
