L’elisir d’amore

BOP’s 4th annual spring opera, Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore (The Elixir of Love), opened on  Friday, March 6th. Directed by Michael Lubin and Music Directed by Diego Ramos Rosas, L’elisir tells of a bumbling farmer (Nemorino, played by Ben Skerritt) and his love for Adina (Alexandra Bachorick).  His amorous advances are complicated by the arrival of Belcore (Andrew Oates), a bellicose sergeant who is as equally smitten with Adina as he is with himself.  However, the arrival of the peddler “Doctor” Dulcamara (Matt Garza) with his magical elixir may give Nemorino just the help he needs.  The show is fully staged and orchestrated, and is presented in Italian with English Supertitles.
