Read or Die TV

Posted by Adam White on May 4th, 2006

Read or Die TV is an anime series about three sisters and their adventures. At a glance, they seem to be unassuming girls who just really enjoy reading books and absorbing knowledge, but beyond that, they are able to manipulate the paper in books to form different, Awesome techniques. Each sister specialises in a form of this ‘paper magic’, with their own unique strengths and weaknesses. The series follows their adventures with a rebellious, stubborn, best-selling author who is trying to find her inspiration for a new novel. This develops into the main story of the anime, but there is plenty of fuzzy-wuzzy good times, as well as super awesome good times. The anime itself is quite fast-paced, and viewers will find themselves drawn to the little personality quirks and backgrounds of each sister as they grow into very well-developed characters. As a series, it never fails to make people feel great and happy about life and the universe in general. The music for the OP is touted as one of the best opening songs out there, up there with Tank! from Cowboy Bebop, while the ED is also highly acclaimed. The OST is available online, and is highly recommend to those who collect such things.

Overall: 9.3/10
Characters: 9.4/10
Music: 9.7/10
Story: 9/10
Animation: 9.1/10
