AEΠ OF BROWN UNIVERSITY | BETA RHO CHAPTER

What is AEΠ?

Brothers with alumnus David Guttman on a recent Birthright trip to Israel

Founded in 1995, the Beta Rho chapter of AEΠ is the youngest member of Brown's growing Greek scene. What began as a chapter of 13 Founding Fathers is now a thriving community of over 40 dedicated brothers and a staple of Brown campus life. There is no stereotypical Beta Rho brother, and our diversity helps to make a dynamic brotherhood. Our Brothers hail from across the country, and while AEΠ was founded on the ideals of the Jewish faith, it is open to everyone and includes members of various races and religions.

Throughout its history, our fraternity has served as a starting point for young men who will later become leaders in their fields. Living together as brothers teaches cooperation and consideration of others and prepares our members for lives as responsible citizens.

Academics are important to AEΠ. In fact, the fraternity helps members attain academic excellence and success by facilitating study groups and by sponsoring campus-wide study breaks. AEΠ also has an extensive alumni network with over 77,000 members internationally, which helps graduates with their future career paths. Many AEΠ alumni have used their experiences as brothers to help them during their lives, including Wolf Blitzer, James L. Brooks, Art Garfunkel, Jerry Lewis, Charles Moskowitz, Robert Novak, Ron Popeil, Chet Simmons, Paul Simon and Gene Wilder.

Most of our brothers never thought they would even consider joining a fraternity. And yet those brothers who've graduated say that joining AEΠ was one of the best decisions that they made while at Brown. In our opinion, being in a fraternity is a chance to make new friends and even live with old ones while at the same time growing as an individual and having a lot of fun doing it. We encourage you to come by our place, hang out, and meet the brothers. Being a brother of Alpha Epsilon Pi is an experience that will enrich your years at Brown like you never thought possible. It is an experience that creates an enduring support network of friends and memories that last a lifetime.

Beta Rhos are active in many facets of extra-curricular life. Our activities outside of the house are numerous, and you’ll find that AEΠ brothers are active members and leaders of WBRU radio, Brown Students for Israel, Asthma Swim, Brown Science Prep, the Brown Band, the Rugby Team, Model UN, the RC program, Bruin Club, the Meiklejohn program, The Brown Derbies, The Higher Keys, and many more campus organizations. Brothers concentrate in a variety of academic areas ranging from Economics, CS, and Poli Sci to Chemistry, Neuroscience, and Applied Math to Comparative Literature, Theater, Philosophy, English, and Classics.

AEΠ is a fraternity founded on Jewish ideals boasting over 120 chapters and 77,000 members. No other group, society, or club you could join as a student at Brown will foster and support your pursuits as AEΠ can.
